When I used to teach first aid out in the industry, I was surprised to discover that 80% of the first aid kits at businesses and facilities were either empty or filled with expired supplies.  In most cases the first aid kit boxes and cabinets are completely undamaged and usable but some people just throw them out and buy a new kit.
